A doula is someone who gives continuous emotional and physical support to a women and her partner before, during, and after the birth of their child.  The goal of a doula's work is to assist in achieving a more comfortable, safe and positive birth experience.

I am a trained doula and member of the doula cooperative of Rochester, NY. I have been trained in the spinning babies technique.  I specialize in the use of acupuncture and Chinese medicine during labor and delivery.  I can only do acupuncture in a hospital setting at Highland and Strong hospitals. All other hospitals, due to hospital policies I cannot. Although, I can perform acupuncture during a home birth or during early labor at home. For a hospital birth, I perform various acupressure and Chinese massage techniques that are specifically for birth.

Having been the partner in the birth of my own child, I can understand and speak to your partner in a more meaningful way, giving them the tools they need to help you. From running to grab groceries, helping park the car, feeding the dog and providing emotional support, our job is to be your dream team.
